Counter Bore Drilling
The counter bore drill function is used to create chamfered holes. A chamfer is a hole with a desired width. To create a chamfered hole, first define the size of the hole and then click the "Chamfered" button. This feature enables you to drill holes that are the same width and depth as each other.
Counterbored holes are relatively simple to create. The driller will need to know the screw diameter and depth and calculate the plating, if needed. Most counterbored holes are not plated. The counterbored hole will have a smoother surface than the original hole. However, you can use it for screws that come with washers.
Counterbores are used by engineers to eliminate the need for clearance. This process creates a hole above the screw clearance, allowing the fastener to be installed. The process is performed using a milling machine and drill bits with a tip. While the process is simple, it is important to know when to stop.
Counterbore drilling involves a circular hole with a flat bottom. It also creates a recessed area for the head of the fastener. The counterbore diameter should be larger than the screw head diameter. This step is very important in ensuring concentricity between the fastener and the hole.
The counter bore drilling system includes several parts: the tool unit, machine tool guide, revolving base, pin holder, and counter bore drill. The tool unit also contains a pin holder, which must be aligned with the bore. The tool holder then feeds the pin into the drilled hole.
