Rough boring focuses on removing material stock and prepare the hole for next finish procedure. Rough hole drilling tool is used to open up a hole for better precision and super finish. Under certain drilling conditions, customers can even make the hole with accurate tolerance and surface finish without honing procedures.

The boring tool set includes boring head, cartridge, inserts, guide pad and bakelite support guide pad. Different from boring head for VMC and CNC; our counterbore drilling tool is mainly used on deep hole drilling machine to drill bore depth deeper over 5 times L/D;

Machines Used for Rough Boring

Deep hole drilling machine is definitely a good choice to use the boring head, it can be connected with a drilling tube; hole depth, hole diameter, cutting parameters, depth of cut, number of head, and feed are the major parameters that needed to be considered.

Machine tools and drilling tools that used on the machine have to be designed according to the hole sizes. Large diameter of hole require larger inserts to take larger cutting depth, whereas, smaller diameter of hole required smaller inserts to cut.
